One of Ireland's finest musicians, Sharon Shannon, played a sell-out concert at The Irish World Heritage Centre on Friday 14th November.
Sharon hails from a little village called Ruan in County Clare, Ireland, and she is best known for her work with the accordion and her violin fiddle technique.
Beginning with British Isles folk music, her work demonstrates a wide ranging number of musical influences, including, Cajun, Portuguese, and French-Canadian music.
Her band dominated the stage on Friday night, with up to six musicians performing at any one time.
Much of her repertoire was what you might expect - jigs and reels, yet Sharon found a way to innovate through composition and collaboration.
Supporting acts Damien Dempsey and Mundy were very well received by the audience, particularly Damien who opened his set with - a powerful, moving song which thundered through the hall, stiring the crowd into a frenzied cheer, which set the tone for the rest of the evening.
We hope she comes back soon!
