New Exhibition: Hilda Tweedy & The Irish Housewives Association

On the 13th of September at 7.15pm, we will be opening a fantastic new exhibition. It explores the history and work of The Irish Housewives Association (1942-1992) and its founder, Hilda Tweedy. The organisation was both unique and ahead of its time; highly involved in the social and political developments of the new Republic, many of them controversial in their own right, including, for example, Noel Browne's pioneering Mother & Child Scheme.

The exhibition's curator, Assoc. Prof Sonja Tiernan (Liverpool Hope University), will open the exhibition and give a talk; 'Dangerous Trends in Ireland': Hilda Tweedy & The Irish Housewives Assocation.

This event is free and all are welcome. We do ask that you register your intention to attend via Eventbrite (click on the image below to register) or you can email instead (provide name, event and number of people attending in your mail).
